The Blackfoot River Bowmen range is located in
the Rose Pond recreational area just north of Blackfoot, Idaho. It lies within the
cottonwoods along the riverbottoms of the Snake river. The Blackfoot River Bowmen
archery club was established in 1976. Three challenge
grants were secured in 1994 - 1995 to build an indoor achery
range and educational facility. These along with some exceptional support from
local businesses and extrordinary efforts by some of the members the indoor range
facility became a reality in 1997. The
facility is approximately 4800 sq ft and has a 10 lane 20
yd indoor target range. There is also a
large classroom
that is used to teach archery hunter education and host other events. The building is fully heated and there are
two restrooms. To help offset the heating costs the heat
is coin operated. Members can purchase a key and have access to the facility 24
hours a day with only a few minor range closures during the year. Members, as well as non-members,
are encouraged to come out and enjoy our facility. A $2.00 fee is required for non-members.

The indoor range is not only a great place to get out of the weather and hone your
shooting skills, but it is also used to host fun and competitive shoots, as well
as a variety of archery leagues throughout
the year.

The outdoor range facilities include a practice range located in a convenient location
near the road and the club house.
There are several burlap targets positioned at a variety of distances.

The archery range sits on ground leased from Bingham county and includes three outdoor ranges. Each of the ranges consists of 20 cardboard butts and burlap targets. The
terrain is very mild and easily navigable by almost everyone. Currently
we have two elevated shooting platforms giving shooters the opportunity to gain
the perspective of being in a tree stand. We hold a variety of 3-D shoots during
the year and they typically have as many as 40 lifesize animal targets.
